Location
The house is located in St Jacut which is situated on the beautiful North Brittany coast, set on a peninsula with 11 safe sandy beaches to explore. The village is a family resort during the summer, much favoured by Parisians and other French families. It has a relaxed feel , with the emphasis on sailing, swimming and generally taking it easy on the beaches during the day, and eating well in the evenings. One of these sandy beaches is very close to the house, within a short walk, so is great for kids of all ages. Just opposite the house is a small bistro with an outside terrace where meals are taken in the summer evenings. The facilities of the village include a grocer, baker and several restaurants and bars.
As well as swimming in the clean waters, rockpooling and fishing, a sailing school is found in the village, where boats can be hired. There is also a diving school and kayak hire is also available. The area is ideal for cycling, or walking along the coastal footpath which runs directly outside the front of the house. Close by is the ruined Chateau Guildo and the peaceful Arguenon river valley. The popular resorts of Dinard, St Briac and St Lunaire are very close. A little further is the walled seaport of St Malo, the medieval town of Dinan and the world heritage site of Mont St. Michel.
