Description
This property of great charm and character consists of two adjacent houses built of granite under a slate roof. The houses are set in a peaceful garden on the edge of a valley in a very pretty hamlet, 2 km from the nearest village, and only 6 km from the pretty lakeside town of Jugon-les Lacs. Dinan is about 20 minutes drive away, good sandy beaches can be reached in about 35 minutes.
Les Hirondelles, the older part of the house, dates back to the early medieval era and retains some ancient features such as a stone spiral staircase and arched doorways. Comfortably sleeps eight in four bedrooms, with space for an additional two on the mezzanine.
Les Alouettes was built later, around 1800, and also has a wealth of original features, old beams, huge traditional Breton granite fireplace and exposed stone walls. Sleeps seven in three bedrooms.

Location
The house is in a small hamlet of attractive stone houses. A public footpath leads directly from the house through woodland and peaceful countryside, home to deer, ducks and the occasional boar. About a mile away from the house is the typical French village of Megrit with church, bakery, bar and shop. There are several colour coded signposted circuits for walkers leading from Megrit and the area is ideal for cycling. Riding stables can be found on the edge of the village of Plelan Le Petit a few miles away, which has a bank, post office, bistros and supermarket.
Jugon Les Lacs is a pretty town 6km from Le Tremblay, standing at the end of a lake where sailing boats, canoes and pedaloes can be hired for use on the lake. You can also hire bikes here and there is a good heated outdoor swimming pool. After all that, you can have a drink in one of the cafes or a meal in one of the good restaurants to be found in the town.
A little further afield are the many sandy beaches and rugged headlands of the Cote D'Emeraude. The family seaside towns of St Jacut, Dinard and Lancieux are all found on this coast, which is about a 35 minute drive. Inland is La Hunaudaye, a beautiful moated castle partly ruined but retaining its medieval grandeur. Close by is the Ferme D'Antan, a reconstructed Breton farm offering a fascinating glimpse back in time and a chance to experience authentic Breton farm life. The preserved medieval town of Dinan is a 20 minute drive away.

'We must say that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Le Tremblay and with your assistance and local knowledge our holiday was made perfect. It certainly is a lovely part of France and we are certain to return to the area in the future. We know that N, Y and the children also enjoyed their holiday and their assistance to us in doing all of the local driving etc made our break even more of a total rest for us. Thanks again and our best wishes to you all for continuing success in your ventures.' MG August 2008

'Hi Jeremy, just emailing to say that we had such a lovely time in your absolutely gorgeous house - a true home from home! We loved it so much that we really didn't want to leave! I think we were lucky with the weather considering how bad it has been in the UK.' SL August 2007
