Location
La Tourelle takes its name from the towers of the twelfth century castle next to which it stands. The ruins have been recently restored and dominate the well preserved, peaceful village of Lehon, in which can be found some beautiful stone cottages, cobbled streets, flower beds and the Abbey founded in the ninth century. In the village is a large heated open air swimming pool, a little further are tennis courts. The village has a bakers, and a bar/bistro within a short walk.
Close by is the River Rance, with river side paths leading out to unspoilt countryside in both directions, ideal for cycling or walking. If you cross the ancient bridge and stroll along the river past the lock keepers cottage you arrive at the bustling port of Dinan in about 15 minutes, from where you could take a boat trip, hire a canoe or eat in one of many good restaurants. The North Brittany coast with its series of superb sandy beaches is about 35 minutes’ drive away.
