Location
The cottage is 2km from the small well-kept village of Saint Samson sur Rance which has a baker’s, and 3km from the small town of Plouer sur Rance, with a wider range of facilities including a supermarket, banks and a selection of shops.
A short (8km) drive south brings you to Dinan, with an almost perfectly preserved medieval town centre. As well as a fine collection of half timbered houses, the historic centre has a good number of restaurants, cafes, artists’ galleries and workshops, and a fine castle and impressive stone ramparts. The steep rue du Jerzual leads down through one of the ancient town gates to the attractive old port. Here you can sit and watch the world go by from one of the riverside cafes and restaurants, take a boat trip up the Rance or hire a self drive boat and explore the river at your leisure.

Heading north from the cottage is the elegant seaside resort of Dinard , the fascinating town of Saint Malo with its popular 'intra muros' area, not forgetting the fantastic sandy beaches of both towns.
From here, you can head along the North Brittany coastline of cliffs, sandy coves and typically French resorts, where the emphasis is firmly on good food and wine and taking the time to unwind.
