Description
A lovingly restored romantic retreat sleeping two in the heart of historic Dinan, the apartment is on the ground floor of an elegant 18th century building, just inside the ancient ramparts which surround the town. Although it is in the main market square, the apartment is very quiet being at the back of the building behind a traditional bookbinder’s shop.
The main doorway leads into a large room with a monumental granite fireplace, walls of golden lime and hemp with floors of encaustic tiles and oak. A new hand built oak kitchen has been installed and the dining table is next to a window overlooking the private lawned garden. The double bedroom has original oak panelling with two oil paintings uncovered during the restoration work. There is a separate WC and a newly fitted shower room and wash basin.

Location
The apartment is located in the heart of the historic centre of Dinan, where there is a wealth of attractive timber framed buildings and cobbled streets, literally across the road. The 12th century castle, stone ramparts and other historic buildings combine to make Dinan one of the best preserved examples of a medieval town in France. With a wide selection of good restaurants, bistros and bars, Dinan has a reputation for good food and drink. The town also has many artists’ galleries, sculptors, antique shops and independent small shops, one of the reasons why Dinan has been labelled Town of Art and History.
A short walk down the Rue Du Jerzual leads to the old port area and the river Rance, with river side paths leading out to unspoilt countryside in both directions, ideal for cycling or walking. The north Brittany coast with its series of superb sandy beaches is about a 35 minute drive away.

Guest Comments
'The apartment was excellent, so quiet but so close to the centre. We would certainly visit again' (KC, February 2008)
'Thank you for the wonderful time we had at your property in Dinan. We've been travelling for 8 months now and have had nowhere like it in all that time. The house itself was homely and comfortable whilst the garden proved a revelation. Meals of typical French produce washed down with a good red were wonderful out there and will be very happy memories.' (DC, May 2008)
