Description
Located 300m from the main sandy beach in Dinard, this spacious two bed apartment has just been decorated and equipped (summer 2009) and provides an ideal base for a seaside break in an elegant French seaside town.
The apartment is really in the middle of this popular seaside town; from the front door, you can stroll to Dinard's main beach in about three minutes. There is a good selection of restaurants and cafés close by, as well as tempting bakers, patisseries and other food shops.

The apartment is located on the second floor within a traditional stone Dinard townhouse, and is accessed by stairs. Entering the apartment, there is a spacious living area with a sofa and two armchairs, next to a dining table with four chairs. Adjoining this area is a corner kitchen with an electric hob and oven, microwave, and fridge with freezer compartment.
Next to this room is a pretty double bedroom and a separate bathroom with WC. A short flight of stairs leads to a spacious attic bedroom with two single beds and a cot. There are stairgates at the top and bottom of these stairs. Electric radiators and double glazing make the apartment a comfortable base all year round.
The apartment overlooks Dinard's market square, which is host to the market held three times a week. There is a couple of open air public car parks close to the apartment - daily fees are about 5 Euros (as at July 2009).

Location
The town of Dinard is very close (about 5 km) to the airport of Pleurtuit which is served by Ryanair flying in from East Midlands and Stansted. With some very low priced flights, you can get to the area very cheaply, and pick up a hire car at the airport. The ferry port of St Malo is very close as well – about a 20 minute drive.
Dinard is one of Brittany's oldest seaside towns, and has a very French feel, much favoured by Parisians looking to relax by the sea. With a good selection of restaurants, bistros, shops and the weekly market, you can leave the car behind and not drive for a week if you wish. A coastal path connects the three beaches around wooded headlands topped with turreted Victorian villas. The main beach, Plage de L'Ecluse, is sandy and ideal for swimming with blue-striped sentry-box tents erected in the high season.

The apartment is about 300m away from the beach and so can be easily reached on foot. Behind the beach is a network of streets where there are antique shops, art galleries and inviting patisseries and salons de thé.
The town is a good location to explore the nearby North Brittany coast with its rocky headlands and beautiful sandy beaches. The impressive citadel town of St Malo is a 20 minute drive away, or you can take the ferry across the mouth of the Rance which takes about 10 minutes.
Medieval Dinan with its collection of preserved half-timbered houses and historic port area is a 25 minute drive away. A little further is the unmissable Mont St Michel with its Abbey and church perched high on a spur of rock.
