Location
The apartment is set right in Dinan's medieval quarter, overlooking the Place des Merciers, next to one of Dinan's landmark restaurants, La Mère Pourcel. The square is lined with half timbered town houses, many now used as shops or restaurants. The town centre has been remarkably well preserved and contains many beautiful old buildings, as well as a medieval castle and impressive stone ramparts with high town gates.
The town is proud of its heritage and actively promotes many activities throughout the year - most weekends you'll find something going on. As a result the town does not shut down at the end of the season and, with a very good selection of restaurants attracting both locals and visitors alike, Dinan is a perfect place for a holiday at any time of year.

One of the highlights of the Dinan calendar is the Fête des Remparts - one of Europe's biggest medieval festivals - which takes place every two years in the third week in July (the next one takes place July 2010) . Other events include a weekend of live music, jousting on boats on the port, fireworks on July 14th and a series of free open air jazz concerts during July.
The North Brittany coast with its series of superb sandy beaches is about a 35 minute drive away, St Malo and Mont St Michel are also a short drive and well worth the journey.
