Location

The cottage is situated in a quiet cobbled  street very close to Dinan's picturesque port area - here there's a good selection of restaurants and cafés to enjoy a meal or just a drink overlooking the boats on the river.

You can  take a boat trip to the old citadel port of St. Malo or hire a self drive boat and explore the delightful river Rance.  You can also hire a bike here, and ride along the tow path. Ten minutes upstream is the picturesque village of Lehon with its own castle, twelfth century abbey and open air heated swimming pool complex.

You can reach the historic centre of Dinan by the cobbled Rue du Jerzual (a pretty steep climb, but worth the effort - it's lined with beautiful houses, restaurants and artists' galleries).

Dinan is a beautiful, well preserved medieval town, with a fine collection of  timber framed buildings, many good restaurants, bistros and individual owned shops. There is also an impressive castle and high stone town walls you can walk around and take in the views.

The North Brittany coast with its series of superb sandy beaches is about a 30 minute drive away, St Cast Le Guildo and Pen Guen are just two of our favourite beaches. The walled town of St Malo with it's bustling 'intra muros' area is about the same distance - here there are some large sandy beaches and a good selection of restaurants and shops - always popular with Parisian visitors. The impressive Mont St Michel, rising high above the sands, is a little further, but well worth visiting.
