LocationThe apartment is located on the quayside in the port of Dinan, home to yachts, pleasure cruisers and small boats/canoes for hire. The port also has some of Dinan's best restaurants and bistros, open all year. The medieval centre of Dinan is a 5-10 minute walk away up the cobbled hill passing under the 13th century Jerzual gate, or you can take the car and park in one of the central car parks. The apartment overlooks the River Rance, with riverside paths leading out to unspoilt countryside in both directions, ideal for cycling or walking. You can hire bikes from the port for about 15 euros a day for an adult. Every two years, Dinan plays host to a weekend long Medieval Festival celebrating the life and culture at the time the town was built – an unforgettable experience. |

The town is proud of its heritage and actively promotes many activities throughout the year - most weekends you'll find something going on. As a result, the town does not shut down at the end of the season and, with a very good selection of restaurants attracting both locals and visitors alike, Dinan is a perfect place for a holiday at any time of year. The pretty village of Léhon is about a 15 minute walk from the house along the riverside path; there is an ancient abbey here, a ruined 12th century castle and a beautiful assembly of stone cottages and cobbled streets. Another reason for walking here is the heated open air pool, available to use at all times of the year. The North Brittany coast with its series of superb sandy beaches is about a 35 minute drive away, as are the seaside towns of St Malo and Dinard which are both well worth a visit. Mont St Michel is a 'must see' and is about 45 minutes away by car. |
