LocationLa Ville-ès-Nonais is located in North Brittany between St Malo, Dinard and Dinan: the three must-see towns of the area. Dinard is one of the oldest seaside resorts in France. It offers elegant architecture, fine restaurants and a casino. A coastal path connects the three beaches around wooded headlands topped with turreted Victorian villas. The main beach, Plage de L'Ecluse, is sandy and ideal for swimming with blue-striped sentry-box tents erected in the high season. To best explore the medieval town of Dinan, we recommend you start at the old port. Once bustling with merchants and sailors, it now houses several good restaurants, bars and bistros overlooking the river Rance. You can hire boats and canoes here, or follow the riverside paths into the peaceful countryside. Following the street linking the port with the historic centre you will discover a wealth of beautifully preserved half timbered houses, many of which still house merchants, artists and artisans. In the heart of the town you will discover Dinan's famous castle, ramparts and cobbled streets. Every two years, Dinan plays host to a weekend long Medieval Festival celebrating the life and culture at the time the town was built – an unforgettable experience.

St Malo, with it's granite ramparts and castle, was once described by Flaubert as a "stone crown over the waves". From the town's ramparts you can indeed enjoy stunning views out to sea while savouring an ice-cream from one of the ice-cream parlours and restaurants of the town. The same views shared years ago by St Malo's most famous residents "les corsaires" who, for centuries, used St Malo as a pirate's den. St Malo also boasts several sandy beaches and water sport centres. If you prefer not to take the car, the charming village of St Sulliac and it's estuary are just two minutes walk away down a pleasant countryside lane. St Sulliac has been voted one of France's 148 finest villages("les plus beaux villages de la France") which are chosen for their exquisite setting, attractive architecture and delightful surroundings. Along this estuary and the surronding coast are some fantastic walks along the coastal foothpaths and some spectacular views out to sea, which really capture the wild beauty of Brittany's Emerald Coast. Whether you're staying near the house for the day exploring the estuary, or taking the car to explore further afield, North Brittany's beautiful coastal scenery is only a small distance away, just waiting to be discovered.
