LocationSt Jacut is situated on the beautiful North Brittany coast and is set on a peninsula with 11 sandy beaches to explore. As well as swimming in the clean waters, rockpooling and fishing, a sailing school is close by where boats can be hired. There is also a diving school, and Kayak hire is available. The area is ideal for cycling, or walking along the coastal footpath which runs directly outside the front of the house. Close by is the ruined Chateau Guildo and the peaceful Arguenon river valley. St Jacut is located within easy reach of the region's must see towns: Dinard, Dinan and St Malo. Dinard is one of the oldest seaside resorts in France. It offers elegant architecture, fine restaurants and a casino. A coastal path connects the three beaches around wooded headlands topped with turreted Victorian villas. The main beach, Plage de L'Ecluse, is sandy and ideal for swimming with blue-striped sentry-box tents erected in the high season.

Dinan is one of best preserved medieval towns in France. With a wealth of half timbered houses and a medieval castle with its impressive stone ramparts, the town retains a unique atmosphere. Dinan plays host to a major medieval festival every two years, an unforgettable experience! With plenty of good restaurants, bistros and cafés, you can sample traditional French cuisine or browse in one of the antique shops, art galleries and craft workshops. St Malo, with it's granite ramparts and castle, was once described by Flaubert as a "stone crown over the waves". From the town's ramparts you can indeed enjoy stunning views out to sea while savouring an ice-cream from one of the ice-cream parlours and restaurants of the town. The same views shared years ago by St Malo's most famous residents "les corsaires" who, for centuries, used St Malo as a pirate's den. St Malo also boasts several sandy beaches and water sport centres. Whether you're improving your tan on one of St Jacut's beaches or taking the car to explore further afield, North Brittany's beautiful coastal scenery is only a small distance away, just waiting to be discovered. |
